Organization Profile: National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur, earlier known as Regional Institute of Technology was established on 15th August 1960 as a joint venture of Government of India and the Government of Bihar in the chain of REC’s (Regional Engineering College) in India with the aim to generate technical graduates of highest standards who could provide technological leadership to the region. It was among the first eight Regional Engineering Colleges (RECs) established as part of the Second Five-Year Plan (1956 – 1961).

Research Position: Project Associate-I

Department: Metallurgical and Materials Engineering

Title of the project: Study on the classification, recommended practices, requirements and test methods for chromate conversion coatings on aluminium and aluminium alloys

Essential Qualification: B. Tech./ B.E. in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (MME)/ Mechanical Engineering (ME) or equivalent with minimum 65% marks (or 6.5 CGPA on a tenpoint scale) with one year experience or M. Tech. in MME/ ME or equivalent with a CGPA above 6.5.

Desirable Qualification: Experience in collecting data through literature, market, industries and performance assessment surveys of chromate conversion coatings on aluminium and aluminium alloys.

Project Duration: Three (03) months or till the completion of the project, whichever happens, earlier.

Fellowship: Rs. 32,000/- consolidated per month
